now leaving for the airport
it should be a twenty minutes flight to Bordeaux
the plan is to spend the day
with people who will show me
their part in the complicated business
of saving the world
on the same day I should come back to Paris
another twenty minutes flight
then back to hotel
it will be a long train ride
then I will be sitting here again
to be thinking of tomorrow, and so on, and so on

I m tired to say good bye. So many gone elsewhere
ReplyDeletebut still living "and so on".
So I won’t
Fly high Fly bright
Be a true bird in an open sky
Put down the veil,
cry if you feel like crying wherever you ‘ll be, do it !
sing if you feel like singing comes shattering rain or hurting green walls,
be deep mute if you want to share your inner self,
enjoy the flash of white cutting teeth
and most of all be forever Reading is Dangerous,
the one who teach our fingers to breathe colours,
the one who teach our soul to be proud of its fears,
the one who shows our eyes
how to push aside the curtains of lies.
the one we name friend in our heart
and don't forget to listen to the drumming of Congo

Dans l'enveloppe à Kerosène,
ReplyDeleteA l'extérieur,
Des moutons blancs,
Broutent la mer du ciel,
Il n'y a plus de vert,
Mais de l'eau, de l'oxygène,
Vue des hublots, le survol,
Des voyages stoppent,
Un instant, la course,
Du monde jusqu'à l'arrivée,
Sur Terre.
//they'll show me the stuff we use to save the world//
ReplyDeleteCould you send me a copy? I have most of the intangibles, but lack a hardware list.
Have a nice journey, and remember that Europes loss is Afika's gain ( I'm speaking of you ).

DeleteThat's no longer in the poem after my edit of August 25, 2012. But I am keeping your comment, dear Wallace!
